We offer following Volcano Hikes-
All hikes include private roundtrip transportation, entrance fees, and experienced, bilingual guides.

Volcan Santa Maria Day Hike-.........................................................20$p/p*
Volcan Santa Maria is a great day hike climbing from 2,500meters at the trial head to the peak at 3,772 meters (12,000+ft) above sea level but with spectacular views of 16 volcanoes, the city of Xela, the Pacific coast and a birds eye view of the eruptions of Volcan Santiaguito, which erupts approximately once an hour.  We pick you up at your hotel or host family at 5:00am and drive half an hour to the trail head.  From there it takes approximately 4 hours to climb to the top and 3 hours to descend.
Level: Difficult (can also be done as an overnight trip)

Volcan Santa Maria Full Moon Hike-..............................................20$p/p*
We pick you up at your hotel or host family at 12:00am midnight and climb to the top of Volcan Santa Maria under the light of the full moon and reach the summit in time to see a spectacular sunrise over the volcanoes of the western highlands.  Return to Xela by 11am.
Level: Difficult

Bring: 2 liters of water, bag lunch, hiking boots or sneakers, flashlight, sunscreen, camera and warm jacket and hat.
Note: Can be done any night, not only during the full moon.

Volcan Laguna de Chicabal-...............................................20$p/p*
Volcan Laguna de Chicabal is an easy to moderate day hike to a beautiful crater lake. We pick you up at your hotel or host family at 7:00am and drive an hour to the trail head.  From there it takes approximately 1 and a half hours to climb to the top at 2,900m (almost 10,000ft) where there is a lookout point to Volcan Santa Maria and Santiaguito.  From the summit there is a steep descent for twenty minutes to the crater lake.  The lake is surrounded by cloud forest and is a sacred site to the local Mayan-Mam people.  There are often religious ceremonies taking place around the lake.
Level: Easy-Moderate (can also be done as an overnight trip)

Volcan Tajumulco- Day Hike..........................................................35$p/p*
Volcan Taumulco is a moderate to difficult day hike climbing from 3,000m at the trailhead to the peak at 4,220m (almost 14,000ft) the highest point in Central America. From the top of Tajumulco there are panoramic views of the western highland, the Pacific coast and Mexico. We pick you up at your hotel or host family at 4:00am and drive 2 ½ hours to the trail head.  From there it takes approximately 4 hours to climb to the top and 3 hours to descend.
Level: Moderate-Difficult (can also be done as an overnight trip)

Volcan Tajumulco- Full Moon Hike.................................................35$p/p*
We pick you up at your hotel or host family at 11:00pm drive 2 ½ hours and climb to the top of Volcan Tajumulco under the light of the full moon and reach the summit in time to see a spectacular sunrise over the volcanoes of the western highlands.  Return to Xela by 1pm.

Volcan Tajumulco Overnight………………………………50$p/p*
Volcan Taumulco is a moderate to difficult overnight hike climbing from 3,000m at the trailhead to the peak at 4,220m (almost 14,000ft) the highest point in Central America. From the top of Tajumulco there are panoramic views of the western highland, the Pacific coast and Mexico. We leave from our office at 7am and take public transportation to the trailhead.  From there we hike for approximately 3 ½  hours and set up camp in a sheltered bowl 45 minutes from the summit.  We have dinner around a campfire and watch the sunset.  In the morning we climb to the top before dawn to see an amazing sunrise.  After breakfast we pack up and descend for the bus ride back to Xela.

7 Cruces Volcan Zunil Day Hike………………………………….25$p/p*
An interesting day hike passing through 4 distinct ecological zones.  We pick you up at your hotel or host family at 5am and drive ½ hour to the trial head.  From there we ascend through pine-oak forest to a grassland plateau, from there we pass by 7 mayan ceremonial sites on our way to the Volcan Zunil summit at 3,542m (11,600ft).  From there we descend through cloud forest to  the Fuentes Georginas hotsprings.  After a soak in the pools and lunch we return to Xela by 5pm.

La Muela- Cerro Candelaria - ...................................................................................15$p/p*
Half day hike to Volcan Candelaria and lava flows from 1780 and 1818 eruptions, with excellent views of Xela and the surrounding countryside. Visit natural volcanic steam vents and saunas. We leave from the office at 7am and return by 1pm.
Level: Easy-Moderate

VolcanSantiaguito Lookout-............................................................20$p/p*
An easy half day trip to a lookout point overlooking Volcan Santiaguito, Guatemala´s most active volcano.  We pick you up at your hotel or host family at 5:00am and drive half an hour to the trail head.  From there it takes approximately 2 hours to climb to the lookout point and 1 ½  hours to descend.
Level: Easy-Moderate

Volcan Santiaguito Crater Overnight……………………………65$p/p*
An amazing trek to Volcan Santiaguito, one of the 10 most active volcanoes in the world.  Camp in an inactive crater just 400meters from the active crater, see lava and ash spew from the frequent eruptions.  A once in a lifetime experience.  We leave from our office at 7am and drive half an hour to the trailhead.  From there we hike for approximately 8 hours and set up camp in a inactive crater.  We have dinner, watch the sunset and watch eruptions into the night.   After breakfast we pack up and descend for the bus ride back to Xela arriving at 5pm.

Xela to Lake Atitlan Trek…………………………………………75$p/p*
An amazing off the beaten path hike from Xela to beautiful Lake Atitlan.  The first day after a short drive from Xela we hike up through a forest slope to a grasslands plateau, passing through cornfields, and remove villages accessible only by foot, where we spend the night we a local family.  The next day we pass through 2 remote river valleys and cloud forest and spend the night in a village overlooking Lake Atitlan.  After watching an early morning sunrise over the lake we hike down to the lake for a swim and end in San Pedro.  After lunch we pick you up and bring you back to Xela or you can continue your travels and we will bring your luggage to San Pedro.

Lake Atitlan to Xela 3 Day Trek…………………………………85$p/p*
The same trek as above, but we start in San Pedro on Lake Atitlan and the hike ends at the Fuentes Georginas hotsprings near Xela on the 3rd day.  We pick you up at the hotsprings and bring you to Xela.

Nebaj to Todos Santos 4 Day Trek……………………………120$
A fascinating 4 day hike from Nebaj to Todos Santos, passing through remote villages from 3 different ethnic groups (Ixil, K´iche, and Mam).  On the first day we travel in our van from Xela to Nebaj, where we spend the night in a local hotel.  On the second and third days we hike through several small villages where you spend the night with local families.  You arrive in Todos Santos at noon on the fourth day.  From Todos Santos we return to Xela or you can spend more time exploring the region and we will deliver your bags and luggage to Todos Santos.
Note:  Can also be done from Todos Santos to Nebaj.

Also available: hikes to Volcan San Pedro on Lake Atitlan, Volcan Tacana and Volcan Pacaya outside Antigua.
